Acquistion of High Voltage Power Lines
The System TopEye is specially suited to acquire power line structures. The helicopter follows the lines precisely and acquires the structure of the power lines using the laser scanner system. Beside the geometrical information about the surface, all artificial objects, e.g. buildings, masts and power lines are detected and classified.

Extraction of Masts and Power Lines
The points, classified as masts and lines, are converted into geometrical objects, e.g. polylines for the lines and single lines for the mast main axes. This data is usable for further analysis in CAD and GIS systems.

Extraction of Mount Points of the Line
The coordinates of the mount points are reconstructed from the polylines of the power lines and additional points from the point cloud.

|
Identification of Danger Areas
The distances between vegetation and power lines are calculated and visualized. If the distance is below a defined limit, the power line operator can start to take action according to the provided data.
